• Wrightspeed, Inc. has announced it has created a retrofit power train for commercial vehicles, the Route HD. The system was designed to operate using landfill gases, CNG, LNG and diesel. 
• The kit can be used to convert existing vehicles into something more efficient without  the great expense of replacing the entire fleet. 
• According to company estimates, waste businesses that adopt the retrofit system can save up to $35,000 in fuel costs, and up to $10,000 in maintenance costs annually. 

Dive Insight:

The new hybrid system uses electric motors to operate the wheels. A generator charges the battery when necessary and the exhaust emissions are lower per kilowatt hour when compared to average power stations across the country.
