• Waste Management Inc. has purchased D.C. Trash Service in Russellville, AR for an undisclosed amount.
• In March, Waste Management completed the purchase of Deffenbaugh Disposal Inc. for more than $400 million after Waste Management agreed with the U.S. Department of Justice to divest small and commercial waste collection assets in Arkansas and Kansas.
• Waste Management CEO David Steiner said in June that the company’s path to growth is “2+2,” meaning 2% volume growth and 2% pricing growth.

Waste Management is on a path to grow, with Steiner noting last month that the company can see “the light at the end of the tunnel” regarding the national recession of a few years ago.

The company will keep all of D.C. Trash's employees. The city council in Dardanelle, AR transferred its two-year contract to Waste Management.
