- Republic Services announced that its new gas-to-energy facility at the County Line landfill is online.
- The six-megawatt plant, located in Argos, IN, is now generating energy for around 3,200 households.
- For this project, Republic enlisted the services of Aria Energy, which designed, developed, and managed the plant. The waste and recycling company has partnered with Aria on four previous projects, and the two are in the midst of two additional projects at this time.

To date, Republic Services operates 73 landfill gas-to-energy facilities around the U.S. It is estimated that Republic’s combined projects generate enough electricity to heat and power 400,000 homes annually.
