Republic Services recently acquired C6 Disposal Systems, a hauler in the San Antonio area, according to a notice shared with customers.
“We are pleased to inform you that, after proudly providing waste collection services to customers in San Antonio and the surrounding areas, C6 Disposal Systems, Inc. has sold our business to Republic Services. We wanted to provide our customers with a true community partner that will continue our tradition of safety and excellence, and Republic Services is that partner,” said C6 President and CEO Jorge Cantu in a Nov. 1 letter to customers in Helotes, Texas.
According to the letter, 50 employees from C6 joined Republic’s broader workforce of 500 employees in the area. Republic also operates the Tessman Road Landfill in San Antonio.
“We are excited for the opportunity to build on the legacy of service excellence that the Cantu family built over the last two decades,” said Jevon Herman, an area vice president with Republic, in a recent LinkedIn post.
Cantu, who previously worked at WM, incorporated C6 in late 1998. C6 provides waste and recycling collection service to a range of business and residential customers, including multiple local governments in the region.
Republic recently reported spending $400 million on acquisitions through the end of the third quarter, excluding its $2.2 billion acquisition of US Ecology, which closed in May.
