- Mayor Buddy Dyer touted Orlando as the "greenest" city and fleet in the southeast part of the US; the “green” fleet is comprised of 36 CNG, electric, and hybrid vehicles.

Cities across the country are considering adding CNG trucks to their fleets. Not only do the vehicles offer savings in operational costs and repair, but also offer a reduction of emissions from carbon dioxide. The ride is also quieter, an added benefit to the community.
In November, Florida’s Miami-Dade County announced that it will add around 30 hybrid trucks to its fleet, bringing the total number of sanitation trucks in the county to 64.
