- The National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA), a trade organization that represents the private sector of the solid waste and recycling industry, has established a new Colorado chapter.
- In August, members of the group met in Denver, CO and voted to create another chapter in order to tackle local issues and conduct educational outreach.
- The new chapter plans to meet in November to elect leadership positions and to define the direction the group will take.

The NW&RA has 27 chapters across the United States. The Colorado chapter marks the third chapter to join the association within the past three months.
In March, the NW&RA announced a new chapter that will represent waste and recycling firms in Maine and New Hampshire. The group contains two separate committees, and each will focus on their respective state.
