Dive Insight:
While Mondelez International’s achievements in cutting waste and being eco-freindly are laudable, the firm acknowledges that there is still work to be done. Reaching goals of reducing water and energy use in manufacturing by 15% by the end of 2015 will require more effort, as will achieving other company-stated goals for reducing waste.
The company also saw a solid ranking on Oxfam International's "Behind the Brands" campaign, ranking food and beverage companies on multiple sustainability issues.
