This scare is all in a days work for some waste and recycling employees. In November 2013, the bomb squad was called to a recycling center in Washington D.C. after items resembling six sticks of dynamite were discovered. In Bend, OR, a waste worker was hurt as he held a bottle bomb that exploded in his hand. Police were called to the scene to take care of two more bottles found in the same area. In March 2012, a bomb scare prompted a Waste Management facility in Hillsboro, OR to stop operations while the bomb squad investigated the incident.
