Dive Insight:
In June 2013, Advanced Disposal announced it bought two assets in the Midwest to boost the company’s footprint in the region. The Ponte Vedra, FL-based hauler acquired Sheboygan Waste Materials in Wisconsin and a transfer station located in Roscoe, IL. The company closed out 2013 with a string of acquisitions throughout the year, which brought the firm’s purchases to 17 by the year's end.
Advanced continues to expand in 2014, finalizing a deal to acquire a hauler in Breezewood, PA in November; the agreement includes the hauler’s markets in Somerset County. In September, the company announced it purchased Monroe’s Rubbish Removal Inc., a waste business based in Whitmore Lake, MI that includes residential and commercial customers in Wastenaw and Wayne counties. With the year rapidly coming to a close, it will be interesting to see Advanced Disposal’s progress in 2014.
